About the symposium
In many large urban cities, creation of new land using land reclamation is often carried out for the expansion of economic, leisure and other activities. Various ground improvement methods need to be conducted such that the reclaimed land would become available for the construction of various activities as soon as possible. With climate change, there are also extreme events such as extreme wave/windstorms, frequent heavy thunderstorms and rising seawater level becoming more common these days, threatening the stability of reclaimed land and existing seafront structures. With the above in mind, the Geotechnical Society of Singapore (GeoSS) will organize the International Symposium on Land Reclamation, Ground Improvement and Coastal Protection (ISLGC) towards the end of this year in Singapore.
The Symposium will be co-organized with ISSMGE Technical Committees TC217 on Land Reclamation and TC211 on Ground Improvement. Keynote and invited speakers will deliver state-of-the art lectures on the theme areas of the Symposium.
